The Roman Theatre Foundation

The need to implement the Roman Theatre restoration required a body and management structure capable of completing the entire project. The creation of a Foundation: a legal entity considered appropriate to achieve the planned objectives was deemed necessary.

In March 2003, Roman Theatre Foundation of Cartagena was launched before the Public Notary. Its founding members include:

• The Comunidad Autonoma de Murcia
• Cartagena's Town Hall
• Fundación Cajamurcia

IN 2004 the company SARAS ENERGÍA S.A. joined as a partner.

The Organisation Charter of the Foundation::

• Chairman of the Foundation: Chairman of the Autonomous Community of Murcia. Excellency Mr. Ramón Luis Valcárcel Siso
• First Vice-Chairwoman: Mayoress of Cartagena. Illustrious Ms. Doña Pilar Barreiro Alvarez
• Second Vice-Chairman: General Director of Cajamurcia and Vice-Chairman of the Foundation Cajamurcia. Illustrious Mr. Carlos Egea Krauel.
• Manager: Illustrious Mr. Vicente Balibrea Aguado

Aims of the Foundation:

• Implementation and execution of the Roman Theatre project.
• Continuity linked to the management of the museum itself and visit to the Theatre complex.

Processes managed by the Foundation:

• Excavations and cabinet works
• Reinforcement and restoration works
• Restoration and new constructions
• Ensuring adequacy of the Theatre complex environs
